GREATER Manchester Fire and Rescue Service’s Community Action Team together with Step Ahead are looking for volunteers in the area who are interested in helping the community stay safe.
Volunteers will be taught home safety assessment as well as being able to spot potential fire hazards around the area as well as get involved with a wide variety of community safety based activities within the local community. Continue reading »

HAVING heard of the positive work of Step Ahead Learning and Employment Champions Jean Chadwick and Lee Davies, the Mayor of Tameside; Councillor John Sullivan invited them for a tour of his private parlour.
The champions were among a dozen people invited for the event, which was put on especially by the council for workers who had gone that extra mile during the bad winter months. Continue reading »

HATTERSLEY’S first ever Step Ahead Showcase event proved to be a big success, with over 100 local people paying a visit to see what was on offer.
The event, which took place on the 24th March focussed on the theme of Jobs, Training and Enterprise but also featured access to information and advice as well as guidance on volunteering, healthy lifestyles and leisure interests and courses. Continue reading »
