Work Solutions Come To Hattersley |
THE job prospects of Hattersley residents have received a welcomed boost, thanks to the arrival of Work Solutions.
The employment agency are a part of the Manchester Solutions group and have been appointed by Tameside Council to work in four key areas of the borough and find employment opportunities for residents.
Work Solutions will work closely along side Hattersley Neighbourhood Partnership’s Step Ahead team, helping those who are out of work back into employment.
Whether its residents in need of training or people who are newly qualified in a certain area, Work Solutions will help point them in the right direction and hopefully into a job that matches their skills – thanks to their contacts with a wide range of local employers.
The agency is already proving popular, with twenty people signing up in the first week alone with more almost certain to follow.
This latest development is part of Tameside’s aim to help the local economy fully recover from the recession and help get people back into work through a number of different initiatives.
Working for the agency in Hattersley is Lyn Egan and already she is enjoying her new role in the area.
“I couldn’t be happier to be here in Hattersley,” she said, “everyone who I’ve met so far has really made me feel welcome and I’m looking forward to working here.”
Community Learning Coordinator Sharron Power said: “Work Solutions is the final piece of the jigsaw in following on the already excellent work that Step Ahead has done in the area.”
“Now residents who have completed training courses with us can get help in making that final step into employment.”
The service is available for residents of all ages, skills and backgrounds. Anyone who is interested can ring Lynn or Lindsey on 0161 368 2096 or alternatively call in at the HNP offices.
